The 7th Health Region of Crete, Greece (JA associated partner) organized its first iPAAC Local Stakeholder Forum on 18 November 2018 in Heraklion, Crete, with the participation of the Minister of Health, the Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation and other distinguished participants.
The Minister of Health, Andreas Xanthos, referred to the institutionalization of the National Cancer Institute as a public organization for the scientific coordination of all actions against cancer and developed the National Strategy for Cancer Control. Mrs Eleni Mavrommati, Manager of the 7th Health Region of Crete presented iPAAC and its expected outcomes, while the Deputy Minister for Research and Innovation, Kostas Fotakis, presented the Precision Medicine Network in Greece. Sofia Aggelaki, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Oncology, Medical School, University of Crete referred to the importance of Precision Medicine and genomics in Cancer. Christos Lionis, Professor of General Practice and Primary Health Care, Medical School, University of Crete, presented the Cancer Registry of Crete and its participation to iPAAC.
